Happy Festive Season to all you Loonies out there!

Welcome to another ITK Newsletter (the last in this iteration!!..more on that later!) and by Jove, isn't it great to reach the end of the year!

With our final episode for the year looming, there has been thoughts of what to do - how do we send off 2019, ITK-style? After giving it much thought, and not wanting to just quietly slip away for the rest of the year, I reckon it would be fun to have a kind of retrospective episode on ITK and what went on this year...it'll also set us up for what we can expect int he new year, and it also fits in well with our obligations to Khonshu -

There have been highs and lows this year, and it'll be good to see if our predictions from our episode 100 have come true...not sure if any readers out there remember what it was we all predicted, but stay tuned and see if we really are touched by Khonshu!

Our last episode will also give us a chance to do some final Spector-Calls and Moonie Missives from you, the reader/listener, so looking forward to thanking you all for being such great Moon Knight fans!

POTENTIALLY THE END OF OUR WEEKLY NEWSLETTER..?

Yes, it kinda sounds daunting, but I'm going to try a little something different in the new year, and one of the main things is adding this newsletter to our base tier as a patron member...

As you can see from the image above, I've set up the page and it's all good to go, I just need to launch it...! It's been something on my mind for a while now and ok, it may be ambitious, but I thought I might as well reach for the sky - if realistically I gain enough support to raise funds to sustain the show on it's own (cover podcast host plan just by itself!), then I'll be a happy chappy!

I know, I know, I'm so sorry if we are going to ask Loonies to pay for something they've received for free, weekly, but it'll be for a meagre $1 (the lowest tier) and the newsletter will be coming out monthly.

By making them less regular, you get less Rey-Ramble, and it should be action packed with quality stuff!! I'll see what sort of goodies I can pack in the newsletter...I'll need to give it ore thought...it may end up being fortnightly...all depends on how I frame the newsletter on a regular basis...

Anyway, consider it a trial period (when it drops) -we'll see how it goes...but yes, this here issue will be the last of the current version of the ITK newsletter...! *sob sob*...always sad to see something go (for me, anyway....)

SHORT HIATUS - WRITING UP A STORM...

After our next upcoming episode this weekend, to round out 2019, ITK will be taking a short hiatus to refresh over the new year, and we'll be back behind the microphone in a week or two (haven't decided yet how long!).

Part of the reason for this, is for me to do a bit of writing - I'm keen to write at least the next three episodes of our serial (episodes 8 and 9 are already written, so I'm hoping to write episodes 10,11 & 12) as well as remaining disciplined as a bonafide reviewer on the Painted Monk's Library website! As mentioned in our past newsletter, myself and a handful of ITK Scribes (now forever known as Scribes, not Loonies....though each and every one of them are Moon Knight fans) will be undertaking a HUGE task of reviewing each and every single Moon Knight issue and appearance!

Every week, commencing January 6th 2020, a weekly review will come out starting from Werewolf By Night #32 onwards...it's going to be alot of fun, but I also want to get cracking and stay ahead, so I'll be writing up my reviews in advance, and hopefully I'll have a decent head start...I've completed my first couple of reviews which will see me 'til March 2020, but I'm hungry for more!

Having said that, a break will also allow me to recharge (and potentially bank some discussions too for future episodes), so it's all about planning ahead for ol' Rey in the lead up to 2020...!

My pick this week would have to go to a relatively new podcast which I'm listening to, titled ALL THE POUCHES - AN IMAGE COMICS PODCAST.

Having discovered all my old comics from when I was growing up, after a Christmas visit to my parents' place, I've been reacquainted with Image Comics and am keen to re-visit the publishers in their original guise...when the titans such as Lee, Liefeld, Valentino, Keown, Keith, McFarlane, Larsen, Silvestri...were all throwing the best 90's characters and squashing them in our faces!!

If ever you caught the 90's bug growing up (or have since!), here's a podcast for you! Below are some choice selections from the podcast back catalogue...

I hope we've made the podcast interesting and fun enough for you to come back and have a second or third or fourth listen...it's certainly very fun to do, but it makes it all the more special if there are Loonies out there who genuinely enjoy it...

And I know, there are a good bunch of Loonies out there whom I've had the absolute pleasure in getting to know - you know who you are (you're probably reading this newsletter right now!), and so I just want to thank you HEAPS for being so supportive and for helping to grow this community...

I want to close off by extending that appreciation by shouting out to all the Loonies there who have thought about interacting with other Loonies or ITK at the next level - just drop us a line and we're more than happy to see what we can do!
